Get ready for your day of yes. Project Homeless Connect of Cape Girardeau County is a one stop day of assistance, service and help for those in need in the area. Beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, at the Osage Centre in Cape Girardeau, attendees will be able to get help needed to make positive changes.
Area service providers will be on hand to offer information on housing, employment, legal services and benefits. Other services include: vision and diabetes screenings, medical and dental care and more will be available for attendees free of charge. Items such as clothing, groceries, hygiene kits, blankets will be provided to attendees. Documents such as ID cards, birth certificates and others will also be made available. Childcare, lunch and transportation will also be provided without cost.
At 2015's event, over 200 households and 400 individuals received help from over 100 volunteers and 60 providers.
